Hoffman too old for Thompson

He was something like 22 years older. It would never happen. And I will tell you why.

When you're 50 you certainly don't feel 50. You still feel in your mid to late 30s. If I was 50 there is no way I would date an old woman of 72. No way. The age difference is too vast. Despite what people are saying. At 50 you're only 11 years out of your 30s. But at 72, you've been a pensioner for 12 years!

I think Emma should have been paired with a younger actor, say 52 years old. Much easier on the eye. I know why Hoffman was cast as a 'younger' man, because he wouldn't have accepted the movie if he was forced to play the old ageing grandpa he is.

I think it's an insult to Emma who only looks early 40s in this film. Hoffman DOES look 72, and that's even with soft focus.
