Anachronism/historica l error - Till Death Us Do Part
Welcome to pedantry corner.
I noticed a minor error in that there are two scenes if memory serves (it is over a year since I saw it) in which Mary Whitehouse has an interview with the Postmaster-General (the government minister responsible at that time for broadcasting). This is clearly meant to be Reginald Bevins, PMG in the Macmillan and Home governments of the early sixties. She makes reference to "Till Death Us Do Part", a programme of which she heartily disapproved. However, Bevins lost office in October 1964 after the defeat of the Conservatives in that election, but "Till Death" did not appear on the screen until July 1965 as a Comedy Playhouse (possibly under a different title), and not until June 1966 as a series (with that title).
