Can someone tell the BBC teenagers are not all obsessed with sex!!

Ok it was a big part of my life, but not everything. This is the same problem with Two Pints, what about all the other stuff. I liked the first episode but then it's the same thing over and over again! Come on BBC!!

Not all the characters are obsessed with sex!!

Xiao-Mei! How did you rip your panties?
I... fall down!?

reply

1. "Two Pints" was not about teenagers.

2. They are both TV shows that are not supposed to be taken seriously, but are supposed to make people laugh.

If you were to take a random group of teenagers out of a college today, you would come out with pretty much the same group of people we see in coming of age, it is a fairly accurate, albeit hilarious, representation of college students today, I should know, I am one!

reply

Meh, Colleges must be full of absolute twats then.

reply

I have to agree but disagree... yes not all teenagers are obsessed with it but where this show is based Oxfordshire... This show took me back to my college years. It was exactly like that. if you wasnt getting it then you were constantly talking about it.

the shows *beep* end of!

And here I was thinking it was a supposedly comic exaggeration, but apparently it's an accurate representation of college students. If that's the state of youth these days, then it's an embarrassing state of affairs quite frankly. I'm glad I went to college with students who were a bit more cultured and intelligent than these morons.

im 16,

sex is a massive part of my life. i mean think how often us teenagers speak about it. maybe we aren't obbsessed but its a big part of my life. i just think sex is really important :)

I'm 18 and just finished college. Coming of Age couldn't be less accurate, yes sex was mentioned amongst discussion, but just as much as anything else and no where near to the degree that COG portrays it as. I think the setting is just basically a placeholder that enables them to talk about sex for a constant half-hour.

reply

True i wasn't Obsessed with sex when i was younger, but the jokes are pretty hilarious and the characters
So i don't mind this its good to watch coz normally there's nothing to watch then anyway and i have actually started to like it
Some ppl are sex mad, but that might not be the only reason they're watching the show
It could be simply coz it is funny

I'm not quite sure where you got the idea that this was supposed to represent teenagers?

This is based on humour, not reality... They may take some real life elements, but it is deliberately blown out of proportion to make it funny.

reply

no for you maybe but for plenty of others ... and these shows were written by dirty individuals, NOT the BBC 
