So...it's dead?

Meaning no anything? I could see not releasing it to theaters, but the damn thing's already shot and put together. They've already got a trailer out and everything, why not atleast put it straight to DVD and TRY to make some money out of the whole production instead of letting it just rot in the can and wasting all the money they put into it?
