My Best Friend's Girl - v3 - is a 9-star love story

There are actually 3 edits of this movie. If you rent or netflix the DVD, you'll get the 2 over-the-top needlessly-raunchy versions, which is what's causing such a low rating on IMDB. The DVD has a "really raunchy" version (basic play), and an "extended edit" which can only be described as "needlessly raunchy". I only made it 10 mins through either edit before shutting them off.

If you rent the 3rd version, the TV - airplane - public consumption edit of the movie - it's quite a charming, almost PG13 - love story, with a few bits of profanity and some sexual innuendo. Anyway, that version is really quite a funny and charming movie. I can get it if people can't stand kate hudson (too cute sometimes, like her mom goldie hawn), and I can get it if women cannot stand dane cook. But, I like kate hudson and I recorded the TV version from Showtime just this week - i finally got it, after having seen the TV version on an airplane.

I rented the DVD version and was horrified at how dumb, pointless, and disgusting much of the humor was. I guess you have to be a Dane Cook fan and be looking for more raunchy jokes from him, to enjoy those 2 versions.

9 stars out of 10 (TV version).

I must have seen the raunchy version where the strippers were all over him. But the reason the movie was bad was Dane wasn't funny, there was no chemistry between them, they had nothing in common. I liked Tank's friend more and wanted to see more of him. He was sweet. Tank was slimy and stupid. Dane didn't look his best in this movie dyed black hair, greasy looking, sunken face.
