Critics loved it. More over-hyped crap from Mike Leigh

Sigh.

The actors speak with a British accent.

It's directed by Mike Leigh.

Of course, the critics loved it.

Imagine the critical reaction if, instead, everyone spoke with a Southern fried accent.

And it was directed by some guy named Mickey Lee.

Yet, the story hadn't changed.

Does anyone honestly, in their heart of hearts, think that these same lazy, over-paid, smug, ego-inflated, pompous, reputation-obsessed critics would be so quick to praise it?

LOL! My guess is they would mention how the film has no point, no plot and the main character is simply unrealistic or annoying. Oh, and they'd probably drone on about the absence of a tone.

God this movie stunk and film critics continue to remind me why they are irrelevant.

It was a *beep* film.

Critics liked it because it's a British film? That's a new one.

I didn't like the movie at all.
Total Film was my bible until they said this movie was feel good movie and gave it 4 stars.
After that it went downhill with Total Film.

This movie was dull and boring.

There are lots of movies that the critics say are bad that I like. This is actually the only movie I know where the reverse is true. Here I really can't see what's good about it, I found it total crap.

Actually there was an American film rather like you describe, OP. "Junebug". The critics loved it. So I guess you're entirely wrong, pretty much.

I used to want to change the world. Now I just want to leave the room with a little dignity.

What a pathetic reaction. Another person that thinks that America is the only country in the world that makes films. No wonder your economy and your society is finished... Signed Scott.

it's pathetic that you spend so much time criticizing people who like the film and hypothetical situations rather than the film itself.
