GIRL WITH GREEN EYES (1964)

HAPPY-GO-LUCKY's light & lyrical musical score (featuring an oboe) immediately made me sure that it was influenced by the score of the 1964 B&W Woodfall film, GIRL WITH GREEN EYES, starring Rita Tushingham, Lynn Redgrave & Peter Finch, wonderfully directed by Desmond Davis & based on an Edna O'Brien novel & screenplay. The films also share a fun, light, carefree & lyrical feel of youth that is eventually impinged upon a bit by a darker, more serious edge in the narrative. Available on YouTube in its entirety -- & highly recommended!
