Poppy: The most genuine, joyful screen character in a longtime

Really surprised to read the majority of this messageboard's opinion that Poppy is irritating and David Brent like. I think she's wonderful - first ten minutes I felt a slight jolt of that feeling about her, but once I got into I found her intoxicating, and really, alarmingly sweet.

I understand the theory that her happiness is hiding a deeper sadness, but I don't buy it. I think the speech she gives to her sister about having some tough times, but who doesn't, and how she loves her life sums her up to a tee - she's happy to just smile on and get on with life, rather than just take a huff at the slightest thing. She doesn't care if she upsets people in the way she acts, because that's just how she is and she carries on regardless.

That's my humble opinion on it anyway, done a rather stunted review of it here, although it starts off with a long ramble about why I'm reviewing a film 4 years too late!!!
