Ending was so predictable

As soon as they set it up the bet I thought surely there is going to be another twist, but it is such a lazy ending when they get the right amount of points required. Kind of spoiled the movie for me, it felt cheesy and more like a lifetime movie.

I found it very satisfying.And Jennifer Lawrence and Julia Stiles, GREAT GIRLS and actresses! I remember Julia's 2000s peak hit making days when SHE was tad YOUNGER than Jennifer in this movie.

i didn't like the ending either
expected something edgier

Yes, these movies always have some weird creepy twist that doesn't sit well with me. The dad gambling his life away on a bet was weird. Pat seemed to stabilize surprisingly well for the last 30 minutes of the movie so that his mental illness was no longer an issue. But Jennifer Lawrence was looking hot, so that offset it.

SO WHAT if it's predictable? Does every movie have to have a twist ending or surprise ending? WHY?

You can only pity these fools imho.
