cheesy ending...

Totally anti-climactic!

reply

Agreed. My mom and I watched it and we thought that what she did was stupid. Couldn't she be sued for that?

reply

I think so.
Two hours with that ending?
Waste of my time.
Sad, sad, movie.

reply

what happened?

reply

She turns into Nancy Drew dectective at the end tracks down Antonio Sabato, trashes his computers calls him pathetic and he steps on some glass and she walks away..with some dangerous words of wisdom. Because in real life a sleezeball like him would of never let her get away clean. She would not have made it out of the film makers door.
It was almost comical when he stepped on the glass. Plus Sabato was in a movie for a very short time.
Yes she could get arrested and sleezeball like him would have her arrested. She would end up trouble and he would be the victim.

reply

Agreed. Stupid stupid movie!!

reply

It was more than cheesy, it was downright stupid. This movie was as bad as the kid addicted to internet porn or the one with the girl who signs up to be a model and gets tricked into taking raunchy photos. This is an example of a bad Lifetime movie.

Tomorrow's just your future yesterday!

A real life slimeball would've beaten her ass or worse!

I'm glad Obama won, but I will not jump on the Pro-Choice bandwagon

reply

Let's be honest. A slimeball like Antonio Sabato Jr.'s character would not have just stood by pleading with her while she wrecked thousands of dollars of equipment. He would have punched her out. But I suppose they had to show her winning at least a token victory.

I agree that private behavior should remain private, but when it gets on the Internet, it is no longer private. No school district would keep a teacher who was exposed like that (pun intended). The parents would be up in arms, even if some of the young mothers did the same thing themselves 10 years earlier. You often change when you have your own family. What I can't figure is why her head was put on another woman's body. Was the face of the other woman that ugly?

reply

I just found the girl really annoying. How many times did she whine "But I didn't do anything!"

reply

I agree she was annoying and I lost count of that monotonous whine after about four times. By the standards of today, maybe she really didn't "do anything," but any man or woman runs risks when they get plastered - especially at parties where most of the other partygoers are strangers. Sometimes you can't even trust your "friends."

reply

And actually, she did do 'something'. Went topless and faked an orgasm. If she had been completely innocent I could see some merit of this movie.

reply

Like I said, "MAYBE by the standards of TODAY," she did nothing. In this day of reality shows and "Girls Gone Wild" videos, maybe what she did might seem like "nothing" to today's young people. Not being young anymore, I don't know. I tend to agree with you, but I have a daughter about her age so who knows. Certainly, if if happened to my daughter, I would be angry at Sabato's character, but I wouldn't let her off the hook by a long shot.

reply

i thought the ending was very poignant - the guy was obviously a coward - afraid of a woman's true power - that he wimped out so easily is open to debate - he may have been so infatuated with emma that he would not take a hand to her - he did seem to spin out when he laid eyes on her so it is a possibility of a very insecure and hollow person perhaps? - i liked the rantings against the porno business but they could have been dramatised instead of lecturised -

reply

Your points are well-taken, but I still believe he would have clopped her in real life. Knocking over machinery isn't a "woman's true power" to me. Anyone can break things. In today's world of cell phone cameras and camcorders, anything you do can become public. The days of "sowing wild oats" without consequence are long gone. I think a lot of young people believe that everyone is doing it so it won't be a big deal if it comes out. But the 11th Commandment has always been, "Thou shalt not get caught."

That's easy to answer, Emma's face was what the producers wanted - her face would sell the videos, and because Emma didn't have sex they put her head on a porn stars body. The body did have sex we just didn't see that footage.

reply

That makes sense. Thanks. But was the porn star that ugly? Maybe her facial expressions were better too.

reply

... or maybe they only wanted to pay the porn star once and use the footage again and again with different heads in different movies.

... or maybe they told the porn star that the footage shot was lost, cut, trashed and they don't need to honour the royalty clause in her contract.

... or maybe the porn star had a 'no face shot' clause in the contract.

... or maybe she was not pretty and worked cheaper.

... or maybe this is a movie and the whole premise is false - and this doesn't really happen.

I know that producers in the USA cannot release a film without a signed release by each and every actor in the production. I saw a porno ONCE and there was a disclaimer at the beginning that stated 'in accordance with US legislation' the title of the film, the production date(s) and the name of the 'keeper of records' and that all people appearing in this film are over 18. As this porno film was set in the USA and shot in the USA then the real laws should apply in the films 'world' too. But if that were so - we would have no film to entertain us.

Without a signed release, she could have got a court injunction and halted the distribution, and sued...

Apart from all this - the technology isn't around to allow a head to be superimposed onto another body, in a video. Before this was possible, the following points would be needed as a bare minimum:
- real actor would need to be filmed performing action
- all movements would need to be plotted and timed
- 'body' actor would need to mimic all 'head' actors movements with exact positioning and timing.
- software would be needed to do the replacement.

Did I mention that the 'head' actor would need to be filmed in front of a green screen so there would be no background interference during the replacement.

However, what remains, is the following fact
"If you let people film or photograph you it WILL end up on the internet."

reply

You obviously know what you're talking about. I admit to my abysmal ignorance. I don't recall whether it was a video or only a series of stills, but I'm sure you're right. Thank you for the information. I do some fiction writing and the facts you've given me will be useful someday - unless the technology changes tomorrow, which it might these days.

reply

i'm watching it right now and i can tell you that it was a series of different shots. one shot of her "orgasm" and one shot of another woman's hips gyrating in an obnoxious display of sex. anyone with half a brain could tell that it wasn't her in the video although i WILL say that it was very creative editing on the part of the sleazebag filmmakers.

I'm here to kick ass and chew gum and I'm all out of gum!

reply

When guys watch porno they're usually half in the bag anyway. The brain is definitely not the part of the body they're using.

reply

I thought the ending was cleverly written, as it says in my user comment.

To avoid putting spoilers there, I'll say it here. We actually believe we are seeing something that will satisfy us after Emma didn't get any kind of justice. Oh, yeah, wreck his computers. What else are you going to do? Real smart, writers.

But once she smiled (what a nice smile she had) and realized she had no reason to be upset any more ... hey, that works. Shes fictional. We'll never know if she got her life straightened out. We didn't get any real satisfaction, but it made me feel good because we don't have to be concerned about her any more.

reply

It had nothing to do with the other woman's face being ugly. The scenes they were shooting were advertised as being of "the girl next door." When Sabato's character and his cameraman were scouting for girls, Sabato made the comment that Emma was, "Total innocence." Most of the available porn stars out there couldn't pull off the "innocent" look, or are too well known by other avid porn fans for the innocence to be believable. So they had to go out and find an unknown.

reply

Um...what?

reply

[deleted]

the reason everything is unbelievable is because the movies true intent is to be a rant on how bad porn 2.0 is, and the entertainment industry over all. the main plot is just a means to a end.

reply

sorry I feel bad for her, yeah she may been goofing around w/the "fake orgasms", while her friends were present - but they did spike her drink and made her so out of it that she needed to lay down; that is when the perverts took advantage of her. I think she and her friends were DUMB for trusting these guys in the first place, I will definitely say that but she in no way deserved what she got; also she lost everything, her fiance', her job, along w/her dignity. She was the girl next door face, and that is JUST what they were looking for as well.. wish the movie ended better though.

reply

I agree. The ending sucked...there was no real closure.
