What's with the Psycho house in the background?

THey filmed on the Universel Backlot and that's where it currently resides.

Also, the set that Kevin got taken to when Mona kicked him out was the set for How the Grinch Stole Christmas...

If you take the studio tour at Universal Studios Park you get to go through the sets. You get to see the Desperate Houswives set, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Psycho, and some of Fast and Furious and others. All the sets are right next to each other.

does disney do any of there oun filming think thay contract with other companys dont thay
like life with derek and so wierd were canadian shows

I'm sure they film some of their own stuff on their own movie/TV sets. 'So Weird' was an actual Disney show, but 'Life with Derek' was never a Disney Channel original. They just showed it there.
