Why is John Fielding so Sexy?

I have no idea why but im immediately drawn to him, even as I watched ep 4 and was saddened by his attitude, I still wanted to jump him....Grrr I blame the black headband.
Anyone else feel the same or am I alone...

I hear ya!

He looks good with that wig... :|

There is something strangely arresting about his character. Wish I knew what though!

Dear Buddha, please send me a pony and a plastic rocket.

reply

He was a bloody good actor that why !!

The best films are made in an intelligent format.

reply

Part of the reason is Iain Glen's voice. A man would commit terrible sins to have such as his.

reply

Oh good, it's not just me then! He's an unworldly yet worldly character. The wig gives him an attractively ethereal quality, enhanced by an austere yet (usually) gentle manner. Although some of his views are harsh by modern standards, he is a man of integrity on a quest for justice. Excellently acted by Iain Glen - does anyone else remember the almost palpable menace he exuded twenty years ago in the TV series "The Fear"?

reply

1)Iain Glen is a very attractive man

2) John is both vulnerable and determined (an attractive combination)

3) See number 1.

Yeah I think he is hot, but I am a sucker for a man in historical costume so I was lost from the start.

If you love Satan and are 100% proud of it copy this and make your signature!

reply

Thats a good point,i think it is because hes vulnerable, you just want to protect him. And quiet frankly, because hes just darn sexy and cute.

I think the wig also plays a part, personally i love men in historial costumes, men were far sexier when they wore wigs and walked with canes.
I agree with anatja all the way.Oh by the way, nice corsets.Bring those back too, infact just move backwards about 300 years.

Hes cheeky as well ,which is why i liked him in city of vice so much,he pulls these faces like a child over people he doesnt like.
I didnt like him much in his other roles as i did in city of vice.Which possibly is an indication that i like cripples.

*it's more that he's on a more equal footing vulnerability-wise with women*
That's an interesting comment that says a lot about the imbalance of male-female power! Men also find vulnerability in women attractive - Marilyn Monroe being a good example. Perhaps it lessens the risk of rejection.

So, is nobody else old enough to remember Iain Glen in "The Fear" (1988)? Scared the s**t out of me!

True, the blindness if a definate factor because i dont find him as atractive in his other roles. So it must be.
I think for alot of women it is the vulnerability.
But also in a good way, you can take advantage of him for a change, role reversal. For example his encounter with Mrs french.
Where as other men would have lept on her and ripped her clothes off before she could bat an eyelid. He was all timid like a little mouse. Its so rare in a man, thus making you want to rip his clothes off even more.

But for me its a mixture,The blindness, him,my passion for historical clothing and men in wigs. Its all a wonderful pix'n'mix.

OH MY GOD YES!!!!! Hes so sexy its his whole attitude especially when hes with Miss French is episdoe two...you so would....

reply

Hurrah! I'm not the only one who thought that.
I bought the DVD the other day and on the cover I thought 'meh, they're only historical characters'.
After the first two episodes.... 'John '.
I think it might partially to do with the blindness but his intelligence... (i'm such a sucker for brains )
I shall stop before I get carried away. All the same, City Of Vice has got to be one of the best dramas I have ever seen!
