Audio interview with cast + crew of “Newcastle”

After the World Premiere of Newcastle in New York last year, I sat down with the cast and crew to discuss the film. Writer/director Dan Castle was present along with cast members Xavier Samuel, Lachlan Buchanan, Israel Cannan, Kirk Jenkins, and Debra Ades. The audio interview is 45 minutes long and is spoiler-free. I was the one American journalist there -- I was joined by two Australian reporters. Thanks again to Dan Castle, cast, and crew for being so gracious and kind that week.

Ahhh, those accents ... the dialects ... ! Thank you, larry-411.

One thing though: There seemed to be alot of background "noise" during your interview. Sounds as though it took place in one very crowded room, with other voices also fighting to be heard, if you will.
I had to rewind a couple times, many bits so I could hear what actually was being said.
Still, it was very nice of everyone to have sat down with you for as long as they did, and for you to have shared this with all of us, here and elsewhere!

Thanks so much for the feedback. It's my pleasure.

You're correct in your imagination of the setting. It was in a corner of a busy, crowded press office with just a thin curtain hanging to separate our "area" (it wasn't even a room) from the rest of the office. We were seated at a very large table where the cast & filmmakers outnumbered the press (3 of us) so much that the only way to get audio was to stick the recorder in the middle of the table and hope for the best.

The only way to get better audio would have been to have professional mikes placed all around or some sort of amplification, and they don't provide either.

I've had to listen to it myself several times to hear all that's being said.

Glad to know of your situation and be reassured that it wasn't just my hearing or lack of it, haha.

It's the SHARING that counts, larry-411. I love it when people share their bounty with the rest of us, who never would have had the opportunity to be where other are, and do what others get to do .

Here's to living vicariously, woo-hoo !

(Waaaaay Off topic, but I just wanted to express my sincere condolences to anyone who knew (Domi)Nick Dunne, as I hear he has passed away.
Poor Griffin! I used to correspond with Nick a few years back by email. He was erudite and appreciative. I loved what he wrote for Vanity Fair, a publication to which I have subscribed for about 25 years)
