the ending *question

so the President is dead and the press conference thing is a scam/cover up.

Are the Eyeborgs running the country? i didn't quite understand what was going, who's controlling the Eyeborgs?

don't forget the Matrix influence, where machines create an invisible look-a-like world for humans, and also Jon Carpenter's They Live.

There is no president to begin with, no vice president either, it is all a big scam by borgs. This movie actually has nice ideas, but the execution is awful. Terrible acting with pointless action and ridiculous plot make one messy movie.

reply

I agree. Great idea but poorly done.
Pity they didn't have some real writers and real actors.
And are the eyeborgs now 'thinking' for themselves?
I suppose there will be a sequel and then another one.

reply

But the President is Jarred's uncle, so presumably he existed at some point, and Jarred had contact with him while he was in office. It's clear that elections are completely rigged, but the candidates appear to be real.

reply

The Reynolds character states that he must have died at some point. We are told ODIN (a software ?) controls the borgs, but it's unclear who controls ODIN…

reply

Looks like it was a pilot for a series that did not get picked up. Pretty good movie.

I don't understand how it can work. I mean, even if it's all fake on the news/conference, how come existing supporters of president not notice something is wrong? Are they repelled from meetings? Why didn't journalists notice there was no flow of supporters/no cars went into the building?
How come people from the administration and aides, secretaries and so on, their families and friends didn't notice something was wrong? Were they killed too?

Who installed the conference chairs and cameras in the room?

I suppose that ODIN is still ran by humans, otherwise these machines couldn't have done that. Unless it was the terminator-like robots that did all the preparations inside the conference room.
