Hollywood leftist nonsense

I am very reluctant to trash movies but this one was just plain bad. The blatant leftist agenda made this nothing more than a bad comedy. Kilmer's sacrifice in Iraq was for nothing. Corporations are evil. Illegals have as much right to citizenship as those who come here legally. I wonder how many illegals become Marines without having their citizenship validated. Maybe some do. If that is the case then it is wrong.

Does anyone think the smiling, anglo looking suicide bomber was realistic? Does anyone think that footage after footage of Kilmer's blank stare was gripping? If I had to say one good thing about this film it would be that it was not overly long. That having been said, I did stick with it to see the conclusion so I will give it that. I was curious enough to see how it ended.

reply

Not even my curiosity force me to see the whole thing... This movie sucks, the script is weak (i don't need to see the whole movie to notice) the DIRECTION IS AWFUL, the car chase was lame, Val Kilmer looked like a cartoon character, the kid with the bomb??? WTF whas that????

the worst is that i enter this site before seing the movie and i saw a lot of good reviews... THIS PEOPLE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT MOVIES????? come on!!!

ok, this message is for admins, I THINK IS REALLY IMPORTANT FOR EVERYONE SOME KIND OF PLUGIN THAT ALLOW USERS TO ENTER HIS FAVORITE TOP TEN MOVIES, so if i see a very good review of a movie and the user thought Independece Day was a perfect movie, then i'll know i don't have to take his advice!!!

PLEASE!! AVOID THIS MOVIE!

thx!

""""Does anyone think the smiling, anglo looking suicide bomber was realistic?""""

If you watch the movie it was a mix of SEVERAL movies from now back to the late 70's. Not going to go into it. And with the above quote, she did look anglo, and Muslims, even though I hate them, do not stoop or do this in their warlike culture. That was the Viet Cong. (Vietmanese)

The Beatles sucked, and the worst and most overrated band ever, you PCP Charles Manson lovers.

reply

@careercollegestudent
What does the Beatles have to do with all of this? Who mentioned Vietnam? and what movies back from the 70's are you referring to?

Too bad if you didn't get the point.

It is very interesting how deep your comment is. Just thanks for not going into details. Great spelling btw, it looks like you haven't read much as for being a college student. I think you should read what you write before actually publishing it and embarrassing yourself in front of everyone. But who would declare themselves so openly racist without even caring.

Yes, please lighten up. So the man hates muslims. Who doesn't, these days...and I reiterate, if you don't know how to recognize a signature, you probably shouldn't be posting anywhere, anymore.

p.s. "I think you should read what you write before actually publishing it and embarrassing yourself in front of everyone."

you should take your own advice.

reply

I'm starting to get it. Most of all the people that got through this movie are highly uneducated bigots. You were probably cheering on John Rhoades to take it to them brown skinned animals huh?

The only people that hate Muslims as a whole are too stupid to recognize that the acts of a small group of Muslim extremists hardly represents everyone in the Muslim religion. That's like hating all christians because of all the evil that they've perpetuated throughout the last 2000 years. The crusades, the Inquisition, the Salem witch trials, the massive pederasty perpetrated by priests, I could go on. Time for you fools to get an education.

When someone whines about how it's only a tiny percentage of Muslims that are terrorists, it's a safe bet they have never lived in a Muslim country in their life. You haven't the vaguest clue what percentage of the Muslim world supports the terrorists and applauds their acts. Not reading any Arabic, you don't have a clue how the Muslim press -- worldwide -- reports terrorist acts against us infidels as at least understandable, if not fully justified. And a lot of the reporting is downright celebratory.

You also don't have a clue that the usual "Gee, isn't that a shame" sound bites we get from Muslim world leaders (e.g. after 9-11), while the quotes in Arabic to the masses in the streets read completely different.

It is true that there are some nominal Muslims -- mostly westernized, living in modern cultures -- that don't swallow the diktat that Islam must be spread by any means necessary ... but worldwide those are a distinct minority, and given the recent political upheavals in the Middle East, it isn't going to change much. As any idiot could have predicted, the Muslim Brotherhood (i.e., al-Qaeda in drag) is taking over. Democracy it ain't, and it was never about that. Islam requires a fascist government, whether by a caliph or a Qaddaffi. And Qaddafi was a lot better than what we'll see next. Ask any Egyptian how that worked for them (about like the democracy Khomeini brought to Iran).

Too bad your "education" didn't include any history classes.

reply

Ever heard of Turkey genius? Muslim country that practices democracy.

Funny how you criticize others for never having lived in a Muslim country and not speaking Arabic when it's obvious you're just describing yourself. You're very obviously not very enlightened nor well traveled despite pretending to be.

reply

He didn't say he was a college student and also the statement you are referring wasn't misspelled. So if you are going to try to quote someone and throw back in their face you might want to tell them where you think their grammar or spelling wrong.

He didn't have to be perfect in his response as he didn't try to make a point with using the statement of being a college student. Like your opinion should be paid attention cause you are a college student? So what?

Now as in regards to the movie, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. We have seen this kind of movie before. Everyone just wants to be Jason Bourne. The fighting styles in the movie were definitely inspired by the Bourne films.

Dude, Arabs come in different shades of colour, too. It's not that diverse, but she still could have been Arab.

reply

I may be wrong but I don't believe they use children that young for suicide bombs. I believe this is where the vietnam comment references, since they did do it.

The films writer is clearly trying to shove some personnal beliefs down your throat, and the movie suffers for it.

reply

Well, I presume the majority of the posters on this topic are from the USofA. So I would like to ask everyone, do you know what the oldest-still practised religion in the world is? Its Hinduism. Then came Buddhism. Then came Christianity and then Mohammedanism. And for your information, none,I repeat,NONE, of these religions advocate violence. The American "War on Terror" in Iraq for the WMDs was plain hogwash, and the way the detainees were treated was plain inhuman-in any religion. And for the fact that " Muslims, even though I hate them ", why do you think your own Cassius Clay and Malcom X converted to Mohammedanism? It's because they were oppressed by the Christians. So just don't give a bad name to any religion just because of a handful of human-misfits.They donot deserve to be recognised by any country, religion or humanity in general. And for the movie, it was bad,and Val Kilmer looked awful, but its just a movie.Watch it or don't-your call.

reply

"They donot deserve to be recognised by any country, religion or humanity in general"

Then those countries and religions they so proudly claim as their own should put a stop to it. If Islam doesn't want to be associated with this type of activity or extremism, then it's their burden to put a stop to it.

Same goes for America and illegal immigration. Whine about it all you want, but until something official is done about it, it is accepted and acceptable. America doesn't have a problem being seen as Open Borders, and if they did, it would be America's responsibility to change the perception by whatever means are appropriate and necessary.

Same goes for Islam. If Muslims don't want to be percieved as being supportive and tolerant of extreme fundamentalism, the religious leaders need to, by whatever appropriate means necessary, squash that perception. Until they do, it can't be a surprise that people will associate extreme fundamentalism with Islam.

OK, everybody - I'd actually ask everyone - ANYONE to not respond or discuss any of careercollegstudent's insane rantings. This j**k@ss is a professional flamer - he's been doing NOTHING but go on other boards at imdb and flame on topics to rile people off. He went on a Michael Richards message board and insulted someone by calling them 'liberal' - I guess we know what HIS state of mind is like, eh? He also was major league defending some Japanese chick on some comments she (allegedly) made about the Holocaust being false - by claiming that the people commenting 'were just jealous because she's so hot you all wouldn't have a chance with her'. Seriously! Just ignore the t**t - he's starved for attention and BTW you wouldn't go on and scold two dogs that are screwing in the middle of the street just because it offends your sensibilities, would you? You just ignore them and go on. Either way, this guys a jerk ....

I don't expect much else out of Hollywood anymore, since their political sophistication generally stops at the teenage level of understanding ... much like their impression of history.

Not surprising if you see the educational level of Hollywood. Some of them actually have degrees, but it's in film or theater-related nonsense, which is only one step above Women's Studies or Black History -- just politically=correct propaganda.

Most Hollywood types -- including the techie geeks and admin weenies -- couldn't pass an 8th-grade history or math test from the 1940s or 1950s.

There was a rather well-known study done about 15-20 year ago where they interviewed a number of actors and degree-holding film people, asking simple questions about history. It was embarrassing. Less than half knew that we fought both the Germans & the Japanese in WW2 (most were shocked or disbelieving)... same amount couldn't get the dates of either the Revolutionary War or Civil War within 50 years ... but it does demonstrate that public education is a total failure the past half-century.

It would have been even funnier if you asked these morons to solve a simple algebraic expression, or diagram a sentence.

i'm only going to reply on one thread on this one. i'm a scary Liberal and i didn't particularly care for this flick. half the acting was stiff and felt forced, ie the hotel clerk.

it just saddens me that nowadays, since FOX News came on the scene, every Conservative needs to find some sort of purpose in everything. they choose which character that they associate with in movies now and if it happens to be the bad guy, the movie immediately becomes "Liberal propaganda".

maybe it has to do with you guys actually acting more like the bad guys and not the good guys that has your panties in a bunch.

i didn't like this movie because it sucked. it could have been better, using the same storyline if they had used better actors, cinamatography, editing and direction. YOU didn't like this movie because it struck a nerve.

and then you decided to troll the boards and incite a fight. as soon as you have an opinion on a movie that has something to do with FILM, i'm sure "Liberal Hollywood" would love to hear it. until then tell the fanboys on a Megyn Kelly blogspot that real movie fans say "hi."

There is NO such thing as magic and love is dead.

I cannot believe that the actor who is the definitive Doc Holliday has fallen this far. Judging from the bad box office this film got, not many people buy into the garbage it tries to slip past you. No wonder Val Kilmer sold his New Mexico ranch, the stink of this movie must linger there.
