Lame P.C. alteration

Let me preface this by saying I love the show and my 2 and 6 year old do as well. However I have been reading the books to my kids and noticed that when PBS adapted this for television they changed Helen's mom from caucasion to hispanic. What the heck? Why? I am not racist but it seems like every kids show now has to incorporate a spanish theme or characters. I'm surprised their isn't a latino dinosaur on Dinosaur Train!
Just annoying to always have the P.C. agenda constantly crammed down our throats.

I agree with you and can't figure out a legitimate reason why they would change Helen's mom's race from the books. but there actually is a latina character on Dinosaur Train. She is Mr.Conductor's co-worker who sketches and works in the observatory car. She is from South America and has an accent too.
