why dave chappelle quit

Watching this show makes me feel for dave.C. When i first heard Dave was quitting his show i was shocked and abit angry. The chappelles show was one of the funniest shows i'd seen in a long time and i was glad to see them pick up numerous seasons. When looking into daves reasons for quitting the show, the most evident one seems to be that he didn't like the more racist angle the show beginning to take. For a long time i was mad that the show ended for what I once considered a stupid reason. Then chocolate news hit the air... This show is *beep* terrible and the most racist thing ive ever seen on television. This show mocks all races and reinforces almost every negative stereotype. Lets remember that 'racism' isn't like a scale which needs to regain its balance in order to be 'OK'; racism must be eliminated entirely, regarless of what race is insulting another. Atleast if dave decided to do the more racist sketchs they would have been funny. Chocolate news is a terribly unfunny, racist show and i hope they pull the plug on it before i have to personally write a letter(which im sure MANY people have already done). BTW the 'dave' I am refering to in his topic is dave CHAPPELLE...David allan grier is a terrible racist comedian whois arguably reversing any progress we've made towards eliminating racism. *beep* you david alan grier, get the out *beep* of show buisiness.

I think you guys are being a little too tough on Grier. I mean in no way is he even in the same ball park as Chapelle obviously, but he has a job to do, you know? They basically brought him and told him that he has to be as good as Chapelle or everybody would be dissappointed and he is not going to be any better so they thought they would take it a little more edgy and controversial. I find that South Park is doing that in comparison to itself anymore. I am not sure what I am trying to get at here other than the fact that I seem to find this trend of Comedy Central shows nowadays where they keep becoming more and more controversial to keep people interested.

Some of Grier's sketches are pretty funny but not enough to entice me to tune in every week, but I think people and critics would be more favorable Grier wouldn't have to be compared to Chapelle.

I'm not usually a praying man, but if you're up there, help me Superman!

Davis Alan Grier is a talented comic actor, and hilarious in interviews. This show, however, was uncomfortably bad. I hope he didn't have much of a hand in writing it.
