Capsule review

12345 Good acting, great scenery, a world away, May 25, 2009

By Melissa Westbrook

“This film is a little gem. There's nothing particularly complicated about it despite it being in - almost literally - the middle of nowhere in Kyrgyzstan. But the leads are very appealing, there's humor, sadness, despair and romance. Even as it's set in present-day, you feel a world away. Slows down a bit at the end and leaves you wondering exactly what did or did not happen right at the last shot.”
