It is supposedly based on Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's life, growing up in Chandni Chown in Old Delhi. The title Dilli 6 is derived from the pincode for that area 110006, hence Dilli 6. That is pretty much what people know about the movie, Abhishek is Laxman Prasad in the movie and Amitabh is playing his Grandfather while Gulshan Grover is playing his Father.

This movie is about a guy[Abhisheik Bachan] who returns from America with his Grandmother to their ancestral house in old Chandini Chowk area of Delhi.Here Abhi[Roshan] comes to terms with real India and Sonam[Bittu] and their loves blossom.On the parallel their is this usual stuff going on with his neighbours life [Om Puri and company] and he gets involved into this.Then there is the story of Kala Bunder which acts as the main supporting pillar for whole plot of movie.Then the director relates this kala-bunder with the communal tiff going on between Hindus and Muslims.
OVERALL MOVIE IS A BIG-BORE.
