Bakvaas!

I can't believe I was actually so excited to see this movie.
Canceled my plans for tonight and decided to drive for an hour to go see this movie and I was very disappointed in it. There was no story and I felt insulted as a Hindu too.

Ridiculous!

When will Indians themselves portray themselves in a Positive Way. This movie could have been made by an outsider to show how backwards India is when it is progressing. I am an Indian and I do not think about religion as much as the movies make us look like it.

I didn't like Slumdog Millionaire either .. I mean the movie is made okay (the hype is ridiculous!) but it shows India in a negative way.
C'MON wake Bhartis and make a movie about how rich and intelligent our Country is!

Well that means you haven't been in a communal sensitive area. I have spent 97% of my life in delhi (rest in New York) and the characters in this film are very relatable. I have been to sensitive areas like Baroda, Junagadh and even Chandni Chowk which is shown extensively here in this movie and the people are just like that.
They are all very friendly but if the surfaces of their faiths are scratched, communal tensions do arise!

Neither do I think of religion that much. I lived in Vikas Puri in New Delhi, which is much more 'modern' and well constructed than Chandni Chowk which is considered to be a part of 'Old Delhi'. What made you feel that this movie portrays up in a bad light? The area on which the movie concentrated is exactly the same in which the movie was filmed. The people are exactly like that. The movie shows old Delhi just like it is. In fact the whole heart and soul of the movie is Delhi, with it's various colours, cultures and lifestyle. Even the main character of Roshan says something along the lines of "The people are good hearted , but there are vices and virtues to every society." My point is that this is not "good" or "bad" light, but our Dilli just the way it is.

I agree - live is not perfect.
so let's stop being in denial and accept that things like this happen.

Agreed that u don't think about religion the way it is shown in the movie.. but there are people who think like that and we cannot ignore that fact..

And why does one have a problem in exploring the problems which our country has... how long can we ignore our problems and keep living oblivious to everything which is happening??

To the people who gave this movie more than a star or two, you must really be on dope or something while either watching the movie or writing the review.

This is perhaps one of the worst movies ever made.

Just the kind of hypocrisy this film shows.

So the movie is "Bakvaas" because it chooses to address issues instead of hiding them? Rich and intelligent??? You need to walk out of the *beep* luxury of your house and see the real world. Why the **** should we only sell fairytales?? Do the problems cease to exist if you close your eyes? Then why the ***** should people shy away from addressing them and live in denial?? Films like Swades, Rang De Basanti and Delhi 6 are just what we need today.

How much of the world have you seen? I felt this movie was excellent, especially with all the realistic characters, the situations and what's exactly happening these days.

frankly I thought this HAS to be the worst written big budget movie ever!

the director is not at fault, the end was decent, but the screenplay went no where for 2 hours!!

but why do middle class indians think that india is all rich and prosporous just because they have broadband internet??

I life in new bombay and just due to elections there is no major power cuts, otherwise there is a daily power cut of 4-16 hours!!!

can you imagine a rich and prosperous nation cannot supply power to one of its most advanced city??

new bombay has 10-15 malls, 4 IT parks, 1 IT zone, with many multinationals and 4 thriving nodes yet there is so much power cuts that business simply gets up and leaves!!

this is the REAL india, backward but trying very hard

urban areas dont have power-water, rural areas dont have proper roads etc etc

if anyone says india is the greatest nation ever, maybe in a 100years, right now we are barely making it from a 3rd world to decent country

please let the naysayers come and say this is not true, they are simply in denial!

Why...So..Serious? Let's put a smile on that face of yours!

hey guys..this kala bander loves fantasy movies!!

if u think this is a bakwaas then u might be some fat assed stereotype who prefers horrendous movie like dev d. u ppl will never rest will u ?...all u need is drugs alcohol and smoking to make perfect movie.just *beep* off u ppl.

personally i found this one of the intriguing and entertaining n best movie of the year. and u know what ?.....it was better than that rang de basanti "geesh"....that movie was truly terrible in my opinion.

reply

usually I accept that personal opinion is a pretty much subjective thing, and commentiong on them isnt a proper thing to comment on them

but then there are exceptions..like this movie...people who hated this movie are the ones who couldnt appreciate it because of their shortcomings...moreover about this topic,I think one of the beauties of this movie, lies in the dpiction of people being good from within...and all teh religious fanatism displayed is a harsh reality,we got to deal with it...religious tension is a part of the daily news in this country,if you want to run away from that, ythis is just escapism...

Delhi 6 is a materpiece...an amazing piece of art...then teher are guys who dont understand why the ram leela scenes were "forced" into this movie...dont even think of commenting on this beauty morons!!
