Why such a low rating............... ..........?

6.6 when I am viewing this.

This movie is technically quite brilliant, Vibrant cinematography, mood setting score which complements the pace at which the movie has been set(it's appeal is a different issue).

The fact that quite a few social metaphors been used is true and I think it has been implemented deftly. Al though you may point out that instances during which these metaphors may seem like plot holes or not appealing enough to certain audience(which I would promptly attribute it to lack of creative imagination and the inability to ingest black humour by the general Indian audience). But this is a good movie nonetheless, better than a lot of Indian films gracing the pantheon of 8+ ratings on IMDB(Indian movies are generally overrated on IMDB)

I voted a 7(I would have given an 8 if it was'nt for the ending and inept acting y some actors and I dont think AB's character was not strong as titular as it should have been).

Anyone who opposes my thought also reply this : Has Karan Johar ever made a better film than this ? Has Rakesh Roshan ever made a better film than this ?Has Sanja Leela Bansali ever made a better film(save for "Black", which I would give a 7 too) Or just add many of the so called well known film makers. Many of the afore mentioned film makers have their mediocre films rated above 7.

Due to abhishek, i gave this movie a low rating. his acting was disaterous.
he cant act even if his life depended on it.

ppl might argue 'but he was so good in sarkar'-- well all he had to do in tht movie was not talk and give the 'stare in your eyes' look.

May be you did not watch his scene with Waheeda Rehman after they are not allowed to enter the temple and he had been called 50/50 etc. When both had a breakdown of sort after that ordeal and wanted to come back to America, he delivered a brilliant scene.

As for why the movie is not rated high, I think has to do with how average Indian views cinema. It is an escape for them, they don't want the harsh reality of life even when they go to movies. They want wild fantasies (like Blue) where they are transported to a life they can only dream of... So it is no surprise that they would not support this kind of movie.

As a Westerner, i loved this movie. But I agree most people don´t want to see their own flaws, that´s maybe why the movie flopped in India. On the contrary, all Westerners i know that have watched the movie loved it.
The ending is a bit forced though, but scenes such as the dream scene in "Dil Gira Dafatan" song, where a dreamy mix of Delhi and NYC is shown, were truly moving and wonderful. 8/10

well the problem with we Indian people is that we don't want to see KAALA BANDAR which we know is inside all of us....i loved every scene of this movie and truly this movie was an eye-opener...this is one of the gem produced in India...
