I was looking at some websites that were saying how historically inaccurate this movie is. One thing they said was that leonard and etta were never romantically involved. So im just wondering if anyone knows the truth

I don't think the movie was very concerned with romantic involvement. It was implying they were in love with each other. It's two separate things. His family certainly disputes that, but it's an interesting take on what his first female star might have meant to him. It certainly can't be disputed that he protected and provided for Etta in a way he didn't do any other artist.
shareEtta, who transitioned 3 days ago, has said they were never romantically involved. Bear in mind, the film ignored Phil Chess, a very real character, so how accurate can it be?
