In the movie, when they meet up with the fake Little Walter and the real one shoots him, was it supposed to be cold blooded murder? And if so, was it supposed to be a true incident?

it was not a true event... but it was a half hearted attempt to show little walters real life violent temper... he was in real life a hair trigger... his temper was legendary...
