'Blues' Movie Question

I'm having trouble identifying a movie. I remember watching the trailer on Apple trailers, but I can't seem to find the movie. I remember the movie was heavily themed around blues music but also featured scenes about murder and shoot outs in night clubs - and that's pretty much it. One detail I also recall is that the soundtrack consisted of several musicians. I think this movie came out before Cadillac Records. Any help would be appreciated.
