Not that I would come here with a rebuttal to your statement that would
insult Ms. Etta James; but obviously YOU know NOTHING about the real
Etta James. She was talented, but she was also very direct,
candid, and very rough around the edges!
Beyonce looked like Etta James in this film. I actually think Beyonce
was a tad bit prettier than the "original EG."
Please don't forget that Beyonce was portraying a "real life character!"

I got an Etta James CD that is nothing but her swearing like a sailor. She barely sings she's sooo wasted and the words that came out of her mouth...this movie was nothing.

Plus: Beyonce is gorgeous (I hate to admit it, but she is). Etta was..ehm...a bit of a bulldog.Etta was a strong woman, Beyonce is all girly and fragile and drama queen.
How does that qualify as a great job? Was like mariah carey singing...all the songs were lacking punch.
