Beyonce's acting

It's clear that Beyonce was not meant to act. She is an amazing singer but an alright actress. This film was definitely the film which showed her strong points in acting, but it wasn't a spectacular performance. It also wasn't believable at times.

not the best.

I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"

Thank god I thought it was my own bias against her but she realy is just a B or C grade Actress. Cant hate her for trying I know she works harder than any other "singer" with it got an acting coach and you can SEE her trying really hard to be emotional etc but its too tacky and fake and forced

reply

Agreed! She was still a little wooden, but it was a step-up from her acting in Dreamgirls. Her best scene was in the restaurant, she really got in to character for that scene.

reply

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to whether she's even CONSIDERED attending some acting ckasses?
I admire music stars who realize they need to star @ the bottom & work their way up, or @ least with some training.
Otherwise, they're 'divas', as some person on this board, complimentarily, said Beyonce is.

Carpe Noctem!

Yeah, I thought she was pretty bad in this one, but I liked her a lot in Dreamgirls.

However, the problem is something else. I remember her saying something like: "I chose this movie because I wanted to prove I can act" while promoting Obsessed .

She's got a big ego, that's for sure.

Beyonce sure does seem like she has a huge ego. Is this really true? Or is there something on the internet that can prove this as well?

reply

She did okay to me. I don't know why everyone is complaining about her acting.

reply

Beyonce never claimed to be an actress, everyone know. she is and always will be a singer first. She did fine to me. I say that because there are people claiming to be actors/actresses (Joy Bryant, Elise Neal and Meagan Good) and can't do half as good as Beyonce did. The aforementioned actresses bore me to the ground in everything I've seen them in. They play the same character over and over as they have no range and wear the
title of actress.

She's the black Sharon Stone - some basic chops, but she pushes the earnestness way too far and it feels forced (see Stone in Casino).

A truly good actor can not only go full retard, but also go low-key, much more subtle and still be powerful. Denzel is one of my favorite examples of someone who can do a hell of a lot while doing very little.

'Then' and 'than' are different words - stop confusing them.
