Main character REALLY fancies herself a heroine

Seriously, the main character really did view herself in a 'I'm a tragic heroine *sigh*' view. She goes up to the guy at the night burying something and ACTUALLY asks 'is that a dead body?', or even in the end when she buries Ms. Wu alive (for her character, doing something like that came off way to judgmental and self-righteous (granted the villain was easily judged evil and whatnot, but that's a decision left for vengeful monsters/evil spirits in horror movies)). She also really IS a b**** one can't sympathize with, she's told by her employer not to use the phone without her permission, nor to bring people into her home, but she does so when she thinks she can get away with it, she also goes snooping around the house (seriously, when she put on the outfit that belonged to Mei Ling I was seriously wondering if she was one of those house maids that steal).
