Similar to another movies called Wristcutters

This movie has some eery similarities to a film called Wristcutters. First of all one of the main characters is a free loading eastern European guy that wants to be a rockstar like in this film. And the movie deals with heaven and hell like this film seems to. So the heaven and hell theme may not be such a coincidence but the similarities between characters is uncanny. Then again, what are the chances that a film with very similar characters also deals with the same central theme.

Well, the character coincidence is no coincidence at all, seeing as how that the eastern european character in Wristcutters was based/modeled after Eugene Hutz (the lead male in this film).

and the music was done by Gogol Bordello as well.

And Eugene Hutz was played by another actor.

The actual Eugene Hutz starred in Filth and Wisdom as basically himself... Eugene Hutz even though he had a different name in the film.

Yes, but there is a huge difference between the two, and that is that Wristcutters is an amazing, awe-inspiring movie. Sound stupid but I cried over that movie, mainly because I deal with depression every day and ESPECIALLY when I saw that movie.

Filth and Wisdom is really just...nothing. I think Madonna's been living in a dream world for too long, because the conflict is nothing in this movie compared to the struggle other people go through in real life. You're just basically watching it for Eugene.

I see no comparison between the two. Except that Wristcutters had a better soundtrack. Joy Division and Christian Death? That's awesome. I think FAW would have been far better received by all if Madonna's name was not attached to it. And that is a shame.
