It's really not that bad


Of course, it's not any good either.

But it doesn't deserve the derision it's had.

The performances are mostly fine (and I would watch Vicky McClure in a typewriter ad, to be honest). The cinematography is perfectly adequate. The main problem is the script. It's just totally lacking in any interest or (most importantly for a comedy) humour! There is no narrative line, character or plot development whatsoever. It just meanders.

Really not clear why Madge indulges in filmmaking; she has absolutely no talent for it and lacks any sort of a 'voice.' I guess she just takes the "I'm a celeb so I should probably make a movie" kind of line.

But she'd be better sticking to her day job (whatever that is nowadays).
