I'm pretty sure you can only join the Peace Corps if you're from the US. Isn't that right?

It's a U.S. organisation and so is entirely incongruous in a movie set in London. But then so is eating Chinese food out of those weird, cardboard cartons (Brits have their Chinese takeaways in foil cartons).

Both elements were presumably added for an American audience.
