Looks incredibly unfunny...

Of all the trailers I've seen in my life, this was one of the most off-putting one I have ever seen... why.. would anyone want to see this film after viewing the trailer?

Nothing attracted me to it, a loser kid, no one likes him, but he wants to be popular and get the popular girl...

I wonder what happens next?

He decides to be himself and go for Nikki Blonsky instead of the pretty girl?

And another thing, how did they get her in this anyway? Does she have the worst agent ever?

Why would she go from the leading role of Hairspray to a co-starring role in a bad high school comedy?

And why is Academy Award winning Cuba Gooding Jr. in this film? Didn't he get enough bad lines in Daddy Day Camp?

I saw it! It was good. The trailer doesn't really do it justice.

trailers are too misleading. in fact, you pegged the main character unjustly. he wasn't unpopular or unlikable, on the contrary.

it would be really great for people to actually form an opinion once they have actually seen a film. but i suppose that is asking too much.

I'm suppose to form an opinion after I've seen the movie when I'm talking about how bad the trailer is...?

Wasn't that bad.

Wasn't fall out of your seat funny, but was more of a "fill good" comedy.

Fred Willard had a cameo and he always has something funny to add to a movie.

I'm not a Dave Altell or Collin Quinn fan, but they had ok roles.

I thought Cuba was good in this. - It's nice to see big names do little movies. - The fact that he wears the same ol' janitor's outfit with the gloves hanging out the back pocket is funny in itself.

Ally Sheedy grossed me out with how skinny and old she looked - She can't be no older than mid 40's. - She looks terrible. - I remember her from Breakfast Club and she was a lot more attractive as the bag lady with dandruff.

Most of all the kid from "Cat in the Hat" - showed some versitility in this - Pretty underrated child actor. - I liked him in the "Happening" too.

Only thing I didn't like is the ending when he dissed the girl of his dreams - But she was nice to him in the whole movie.

Dude - what did you expect? I mean how many lead roles does a plus size women get?

What? Did you think she was going to play the role of Storm is the next X-Men flick?

How about the female character in "Wanted".

Any women bigger than Kathy Bates or Queen Latifa will have a hard time getting lead roles. - Big actually works for those two actresses, but Nikki Blonsky is a different kind of big - She's "bad built big"

It's out of the agent's hands.

In fact - for the agent to get her in any film they're doing a good job.

I mean Ricky Lake was the lead in the original Hair Spray and didn't get a talk show until she slimmed down.
