I don't know if mexican police are corrupted...

...like the director tried to explain us, but I 'm pretty sure the members of the jury are! Seven awards for this TV novella ???
Come on !

Well that's your opinion and you're entitled to it, I saw no soap opera tactics in this one as you claim, I actually think is an impressive debut, I also have seen his next feature "Desierto Adentro", at a film festival in Mexico and he stormed all the awards in that festival too!... so my prediction is he's going to keep getting many more favourable critics and awards in the future, he's a talented filmmaker, even if it makes you angry.

No anger at all my friend ! It's just that the story is so predictable, the acting and dialogue so poor and full of clichés, it made me laugh all the way...No anger, just laugh !

I'm surprised you feel that way, bro. I just finished watching this and thought it was great. I can't understand why you felt that the acting was poor, I was under the impression that it was absolutely fabulous. I can understand that it was predictable, but the movie was not so much about the storytelling, as it was about a comment on Mexican society. The direction was fantastic. I certainly did not feel like laughing, far from it.

I didn't think it was a commentary specifically on Mexican society, more society in general i.e. they are in La Zona with their wall to keep the "undesirables" out and feel safe and protected from modern society, yet obviously at the end of the film, you're left with the answer to exactly who the bad guys are. Plus there's the horrible complicit nature of what goes on with both the police and the La Zona residents.

"The Life of Tito Junco".

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.

Where I live and considering the political corruption, the police would not even ask about a bunch of kids who are only good to be arrested for no reasons and are certainly guilty of something no matter what. They would probably jail their parents for daring to bother those fine citizens in their nice houses. There might be popular riots that would be tut-tutted as usual. That's the state of the world. And no, i'm not exactly a leftist (nor right-wing), I just see what happens around me…
