Good idea, poor screenplay

I think Pla had a good idea (not so original, but good), but the screenplay is so so poor.

It has a lot of dark holes, strange an forced situations and some scennes without explanation.

He saw that he wanted to show, but in part lost the movie.

I think Pla would need a profesional writer for his next movie.

I agree it could've been better, specially the dialogues, but pretty much everything else was really well written. I don't know what dark holes and forced situations are you talking about.

I´m sorry, I saw the movie some months ago and I can´t remember details.

I would say one of the dark holes (plot holes) was when Alejandro first found Miguel in the basement. What could have transpired after Alejandro had Miguel at harpoon-point that made Alejandro decide to just go upstairs for dinner and ditch the harpoon outside of the unlocked basement? Nothing believable: that's the problem.

That's the only one I can think of immediately, but I completely agree that it was a good enough idea with a terribly script and bad acting. Also, the movie didn't seem to know its limitations. Couldn't there have been another way into the neighborhood than having the crappy CGI shot of the billboard falling onto the wall?

I have to agree with that judgement. The general idea of the movie was really good. But the actual unfolding of events was rushed, incoherent, almost like a Mexican soap opera.
