Climate Change isnt about Climate Change

Its about keeping the masses subdued!
its the illuminati I tell ya!
Its the rich getting richer while the little guy suffers.
Its about the Lizard people keeping us under control!
Thats just what hollywood wants us to believe!
Its the loony lefties!
The greens are crazy!

All of the above is , of course, complete bullshit
What I meant by the title:
"Climate Change isnt about Climate Change"

..is that even if you discount the reasons we're told we have to care about - temperature increase and sea level rising,
If you think thats all bullshit ...
There are *still* some absolutely vital reasons why we should do all the same things they tell you to do to try to stem climate change.

The point of that semi-coherent rant is vague; however, it's true that climate change isn't about climate change. To its cynical promoters it's about ideology, control, power, and profit. Among the sheep it has become a religion supported by uninformed belief in pseudoscience.

HOW DARE YOU?!!

reply

oh the classic "its a religion" by the idiots who dont know what a religion is and are scared of facts

You can say that again.

Of course it is.

That's all describing covid-19 not Climate Change!

The US has reduced its carbon dioxide emissions to below 1985 levels. Nobody - and I mean NOBODY - has come even close. We're talking a 30% reduction despite a growing economy. The best other nations may reduce by 2 or 3 percent.

To add insult to injury, the US could reduce CO2 by another 35% by embracing nuclear power (and fusion if anybody makes it work) and shifting transportation to liquefied or compressed natural gas. And not building another unreliable wind farm or intermittent solar farm, nor enacting the brain dead measures that Marxist morons keep insisting on.

Everybody else talks. The US (even when impeded by Hussein Obama) takes action.

Memo to Paris signatories: DO (shout intended) something and match the US' performance and get back to us.

reply

You've pointed out the obvious, really, Galilguy. This whole manufactured crisis is a tactic to get a nervous world to welcome the full-scale resumption of decommissioned Nuclear Power plants around the world, and to build many more. Nuke power has been the big bogeyman for decades, and Chernobyl, Three Mile Island, and Fukushima, among others, was a gift to the anti-nuclear people . The myth arose that nuclear power would be the end of humanity. Interested parties, (and they are very interested), had to find some way to take the curse off it. And it seems they did. It's usually the determinedly-uninformed who are most opposed to nuclear power, so this Climate Change myth was aimed squarely at those types. And they swallowed it, hook line and sinker. The giveaway is that they all love to quote statistics and figures, to give the impression that they're not uninformed.

"The US has reduced its carbon dioxide emissions to below 1985 levels. Nobody - and I mean NOBODY - has come even close."

False.

reply

I think he might be right actually, excuse the ugly url

just google "us co2 emissions" and look at the graph , pretty steady since 60s! up on 70s , down a bit since down even more in last 10 years.

Still , easy to make savings when you're the biggest polluters in the world ,
I mean , look how you managed to get those ludicrous cars up from 8 mpg to , like, 15

You've even managed to cut your bite of the worlds daily oil consumption down to from 25% to 20%
(usa are 4.2% of the actual pop.)

reply

The USA has reduced emissions to about 1993 levels while several other countries have done better.

reply

I'll stay away because I'm not a communist.

reply

If the watermelons pushing this garbage truly wanted to help the world in the pollution dept, they can go and try to get China and India to stop belching out all that disgusting smog that's choking their skies. No point in harrassing the countries in the West that are complying as best they can with staying clean if we've got some bad actors out there polluting worse than a volcano on a good day.

reply

All our stuff is made in china.
Therefore thats our shit belching out over their cities.

Its easy to comply when all your manufacturing is done elsewhere

reply

I've noticed that. If you look into Victorian England and parts of America during the Industrial Revolution, when factories became a huge thing, a lot of cities became very polluted and sooty, due to all the coal being burned the the factories to keep them going. I heard about all sorts of issues workers had with very unsafe environments, stuff you now hear happening in the Third World, stuff a lot of greedy corporations (not just those in America or England) keeps swept under the rug so customers in First World countries don't hear about it. Things like people being poisoned in the factories while painting stuff, people getting killed by machinery, toxic fumes being breathed in by workers, work hours that would seem like heaven to a slave, and pay that is abominably low.

Just don't blame all of it on America, ok? The Chinese are responsible for what goes on their backyard, and according to them, human life is cheap.
