WHY I FAILED TO CARE

the funny thing about this movie (i only watched the last 20 minutes of it by the way)but, the funny thing to me was that the girl was like 16!! in 2 years she could just move back with the dad she wanted to be with. in the meantime she could chill out in that super-luxury apartment and live the dream for 2 years! it wasnt even like she couldnt see the good dad either... REDICULOUS!

Actually, she was only like 12 or 13.
The father left 13 years ago (as they said multiple times) while the mom was still pregnant, making Amanda only 12 or 13. However, Kay Panabaker (the actress who played Amanda) was obviously older than that.

so...5 years. big deal!

5 years is still a long time.

You said you only watched the last 20 minutes, I would suggest watching the whole movie before judging it. Amanda and her father were really close, and after her mother died he was all she had. And to suddenly be taken away from the only father you've ever known and sent to be with your real father who works too much and has no idea how to raise a teenager, that would be hard.

It doesn't matter if he lives in a nice apartment and has lots of money, what she wants and needs is love and attention, and that was something he just wasn't offering to her. Instead he left her alone all day on Thanksgiving, and then tried to bribe her with pearls and other fancy things.

She wanted to be with her real father, the one who raised her and promised to "always kiss her goodnight”, and I don't think that's ridiculous at all.

you wrote the movie or had a part in it, huh?

reply

looks like you're out of arguments, huh?

reply

Yeah, it is a big deal. I don't know how long it's been since you were a teenager, but those five years are a young woman's formative years, they are a huge part of shaping you into who you'll become. You don't just spend your teenage years in another life with other people and just go back to your "old life" like nothing has happened.

reply

Not everyone's love can be bought and she wanted to be with her real father the man who raised her and loved her.
