Why is it always a HE?

Not to go all feminazi on this movie but why are women still being used as vessels for a man? Her job is to "teach" him? Considering women are emotional and compassionate, why can't they save humanity...especially since it's typically men who have the urge to kill and fight in the first place.

Dear Mary, you who gave birth without sin, teach me how to sin and not give birth.

reply

I'm probably stating the obvious but it seems to me Charlie, Jeep and the baby are a modern (and slightly twisted) representation of the Holy family.

reply

I bet you can't even cook simply meals.

reply

Nor can you create a simple sentence.

Now go make me a sandwich.

Dear Mary, you who gave birth without sin, teach me how to sin and not give birth.

reply

You should learn how to cook Asian meals as your country is broke and in a few years you will have to marry a Chinese man.

reply

I know how to boil rice, thank you very much.

It's pretty cool that you can access the internet from the kitchen. I hope you asked permission first though.

The filmmakers didn't give it half the thought you have. Like Robert and Ana-lu said, it's because Legion used established Christian mythology as the veneer for a profoundly stupid science fiction movie.

And speaking of profound stupidity, berzelmayr.

reply

I think you mean for a profoundly stupid fantasy movie... fantasy and science fiction are two distinctly separate genres, and there's no sci-fi in this movie.

reply

It's not always a "he". Off the top of my head, similar-themed movies had the "chosen one" be a girl in "Bless the Child" as well as "End of Days".

But saving the world is really man's work. I mean, Saviors have no time for shopping and texting:)

reply

They also always refer to god as "he". Actually, when I read the thread title, I thought you were going to point that out.

reply

Because this picture was written by lazy and unimaginative people.

reply

Even though it all comes down to the same mess of Earth, just envision that "HE" has a silent 's' in front of it, and I guarantee that you'll sleep better at night.
