1) Is this movie based on Hitler's book Mein Kampf ?
2) Did Hitler draw pictures of Auschwitz architecture as early as when this movie takes place ? I noticed, among Hitler's pictures there are a image of the gates and railroad leading into Auschwitz...Really haunting by the way.
Watched the movie last night and it was really good. Tom Schilling potrays Hitler amazingly, his personality and looks.

share1) This movie and the play that it is based on is an allegory.
2) The movie is full of references to the future. Even Gretchen is I think a reference to Hitler's (probable) only love, his niece Geli Raubal who died (suicide? but we'll never know) in 1931. Heinrich Himmlischst is an obvious reference to Himmler: der treue Heinrich --- the loyal Heinrich ... who betrayed him in the end ... hence the shout for Heinrich when Hitler hangs from the bridge at the end. The last reference, Schlomo and Lobkowitz in the KZ barracks ordered out to "sanitation" should be pretty clear.
