Blizzard and their *beep* CD keys!
After I got fed up with the sluggish pace of this forum I decided to go to battle.net's forum. Of all the ridiculous things, they require a CD key just to make a post even though you have to use your battle.net account to log in! I used my WarCraft III CD key to log into the site, but when I tried to make a post it demanded a StarCraft CD key. I've long since lost my StarCraft CD key so I downloaded a key generator program. Every CD key I used was banned until eventually my account was banned! I'll say it again: My account was banned for using too many banned CD keys in trying to make a post on a battle.net forum!
I hope Blizzard has better means of determining if a CD key should be banned than simply banning one for having more than one instance of it on battle.net simultaneously. Otherwise, if by some miracle I should find my old StarCraft CD key I might find that it has already been deactivated.
As it stands, I would have to buy another copy of a game I already own in order to play online. Blizzard either doesn't understand or doesn't care that a majority of people who try to obtain new CD keys do so because they already own the game and refuse to buy another copy. This is especially true if you consider that banning CD keys only effects online play and they already have mechanisms to prevent the use of CD-R's, disc image files, and no-CD cracks online. Maybe Blizzard should get out of the video game business and just invent a machine that sucks money out of people's pockets.
