Why would frequent consumption of human flesh cause your hands to shake?

Isn't human meat pretty much the same as any other meat?

reply

It's a variant of Mad Cow disease called Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease. The vector that started it in cows was the use of beef by-products and bone meal in cattle feed. Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease in humans can come from eating cows that have the cow version of the disease, but human cannibalism has been implicated in CJD, also.

The idea that you can spot someone who eats human flesh by checking their hands is probably rubbish, though.

"Kuru is an incurable degenerative neurological disorder that is a type of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy, caused by a prion found in humans.[1] The term "kuru" derives from the Fore word "kuria/guria" ("to shake"),[2] a reference to the body tremors that are a classic symptom of the disease; it is also known among the Fore as the laughing sickness due to the pathologic bursts of laughter people would display when afflicted with the disease. It is now widely accepted that Kuru was transmitted among members of the Fore tribe of Papua New Guinea via cannibalism.[3]"

pathologic bursts of laughter

Makes you wonder if Hitlery and the whore Kamala have it.

reply

Well you could be spared CJD or Kuru if you avoided the organs, nerves and brain meat, but in desperate times any cannibal would never let such things to to waste, so its assumed in the movie that cannibals ate their entire victims including brain tissue.

reply

I've heard some of them particularly ate the brain and hearts of their fiercest opponents thinking they would receive that persons smarts and strength.

I always assumed it was a case of 'human diseases work best on humans', instead of eating someone's heart to gain their 'courage', all that happens is you get their herpes! The more humans you eat, the more diseases you get.

Nothing Is Real

reply

Not if you cook it first. Cannibal tribes probably didn't bother with such rites of civility and modernity. They had their own rites.

reply

If you feed animal products to cows your cow can get Mad Cow disease.

So no, human meat isn't necessarily the same as other meat.

Only if the prions causing BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy) are present in the feed as well.

reply

maybe the humans, deprived of sustainable nourishment/nutrients, eating other humans deprived of such nourishment/nutrient.. is kind of like eating your own dung.
you *beep* elitist

reply

Humans are meat, but we also contain other things, like prions, that can make people sick.

They should make a zombie movie that explains that this is the reasons why the zombies eat the brains and organs (due Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, this keeps the zombies animated).

Great idea!

You should only eat the flesh of Jesus.
And wash it down with a jug of his blood.

LOL...You do not literally eat the flesh of Jesus; nor do you have to wash it down with a jug of blood. I know you meant this as tongue in cheek; just thought I would clarify the symbolism that is represented.

The Ordinance of the Christian Church in partaking in the Holy Sacrament is a reminder to believers in Jesus Christ to NEVER forget why he died on the Cross.

THE BREAD:
Represents the body of Jesus Christ, and the sins of the entire world, how He is the sacrifice for our sins, and how He suffered great pain, torture, and a horrible and heinous death, on our behalf. He took our sins to the Cross so that mankind could be eradicated and forgiven for those sins.

THE WINE:
Represents the symbolic, cleansing power of the blood of Jesus. It is symbolic of washing away our sins, and saving our souls from a burning hell. Blood represents the very source of life itself, renewal and restoration. The shedding of his blood also represents a new covenant/agreement between God and Man.

JOHN 3:16 & 17: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

I Corinthians 11: 24 - 26: And when he had given thanks, he took the bread, and brake it, and said, "Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me."

After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, "This cup is the new testament in my blood: This do ye, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."

NOTE: Different Christian denominations use different elements to represent the bread, such as, unleavened bread, unsalted crackers, or specially made wafers (used in the Catholic Church); to represent the body of Jesus Christ.

To represent the shed blood of Jesus Christ; some churches use Welch's grape juice, or wine that is specifically brewed for religious purposes only, i.e. Mogen David; well known vintners of sacred elements.

I am thankful and so glad that I can be forgiven for my sins through Jesus Christ!
