THE ENDING??!!!!! (spoilers)

What happened? It makes no sense, someone help me! The mother kills the samurai zombie then runs to hug her son. Then there's a flash back to the samurai's death. All of the main characters are beating the samurai. He calls for help. The cops are chop heads off and have the special dagger. Then the boy runs away and the mother chases him down and kills her. Flash back to the present and the boy stabs his mother. He says he's sorry and doesn't want her to die. She accepts her punishment and makes him stab her again. Then we see everyone's heads on stick and more samurai zombies come to life and the boy is happy. What is this? Someone please explain this to me. Why did the mother kill her son in the flash back? And Who was the man dressed in white in the flash back and why did he come back to life?

To be honest, I didn't even make it that far! I always try to watch films to their conclusion. But this was so irritating to me I only got an hour in before wanting to kick my telly in. This film's only saving graces in my eyes were the "No pee, no poo" sign, which tickled me... And the two cops.

The ending sounds completely random, tacked on and lazily done from what you've said. Is that the case?
