The mine

You'd think in a such distant place like that where nothing happens people would make SURE the children knew that there was a mine on the beach.

That scene lost it for me. Not mainly because of it's unrealistic aspect but because it went over the top melodramatic and ruined the mood of the film. Before that I loved the whole flashback part of the film.
