The Stone of Destiny, aka Jacob's Pillar-Stone has a fascinating history:-

Interesting article in The Sunday Herald (Scotland):
"Legends of Rock - A new film about the Stone of Destiny plays on humankind’s fascination with mystical minerals - by Allan Burnett"

Excerpt: "...a film, Stone Of Destiny, about the raid of 1950, is due to hit our cinema screens on October 10. Since the film was premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival, the critics have asked a few questions of it. But perhaps the most obvious one is this: who cares? What is so special about this especially nondescript object that anyone would risk imprisonment by stealing it, let alone make a film about the affair? Why does anybody give a damn about a lump of rock - really?"

Well, well, well! Aren't you a precious little thing?

So you googled 'Lia Fáil' and stepped past all the stories of its Irish origin to find one more pleasing to you.

It's our rock and we want it back. I dunno - you let neighbors borrow lawn mowers, stones of destiny, whatever - and they never give them back. And we might need it again. Do you know that ALL O'Brians are descendants of Brian Boru?

so it's Life O'Brian now?!? :-) :-)

It wasn't made of sandstone, they don't have the right one anyway. There's no point stealing it.
