Disappointing

Saw this movie last night in Beijing. I totally agree with Dick Steel's review on the front page of this movie. I hate to say it, but the intertwining stories of the three women was incoherent in many areas, and features a lot of slapstick comedy, which can be good in a movie if done well (in this case it wasn't). I wouldn't recommend you pay good money to see this and wait to catch it after its out on DVD. Even then I think it's very hard to sit through. Some people even left during the movie!

Tsui Hark's time is over since Jet Li, John Woo & Chen Siu Tung left him. On his own, he cannot make a good movie.

Tsui made Dangerous Encounters - 1st Kind, Shanghai Blues, Green Snake, The Lovers, The Blade, Time & Tide, Seven Swords & Detective Dee without any of these guys surrounding him.
Yet he cannot make a single good movie "on his own"... So funny :)

Btw as a producer, director and co-director, Tsui Hark defined the best moments of the careers you mentioned above. They owe him so much.
