Did it HAVE to be live action?
I'm just wondering why they decided to make it live action? The movie would have been so much more awesome if it was just animated. A live action movie can't imitate a cartoon with such low budgets.

I thought the same thing. When you actually break it down, the script wasn't that bad. It was in keeping with the tone and style of the series but it was just translated soooo badly to liveaction.
It would have worked very well as a cartoon and possibly could have worked better in live action with diiferent art direction and acting, but it didn't and doesn't, unfortunately.
The only good that came of it was that Alien Swarm wouldn' have been made if this wasn't and I actually really liked ALien Swarm!
For the budget that had some plenty decent effects.
