Gay?

Has it ever been discussed, or considered, that Coco Chanel may have been gay? Her penchant for man-styled clothing, her distaste for romantic commitments beyond sex, etc (e.g. the fact she never married)....

Not making any claims or judgements, just stating the obvious....Having love affairs with men in the 20's, 30's and 40's could've been a means to an end for her, professionally. A cover.

Maybe its just the actress in this movie, but she seems she could've been.

According to Lisa Chaney's biography, she was bisexual and had relationships with women. Concerning her lack of marital status, I think she just wanted to commit herself to her work but regretted it later.

According to the movie, Boy's death really cut her. Maybe she didn't want to be hurt like that again.

by many accounts she was bisexual. but masculine clothes doesn't mean you are lesbian. that's a really stereotypical and silly idea
