Different Cuts of the Film

I have seen two different cuts of this film, one of 126 minutes (on DVD) and
the other of 131 minutes (on Blu-Ray). The English subtitles are different.

I am intrigued that IMDB claims there's a 175 minute cut (in two parts).
Does anyone know when and where this 175 minute cut was shown? Television?
Does anyone know if this 175 minute cut is available now in any format?

I am wondering if there originally was a 175 minute (or longer) cut, which
was reduced to 131 (or 126) minutes for showing in theatres. If so, then
which scenes would have been cut and why? I suppose that some scenes might
have got cut for being too explicit or politically controversial, but I find
to hard to imagine that they could have been 44 minutes worth of these scenes.

Given the nature of the subject, this film's intended for mature audiences.
So I believe that the film should not attempt to sanitize scenes to appear
less controversial. In my view, it should be explicit and disturbing.
