I loved this movie! I thought it was a great fictionalised portrayal of a real person's unusual life.
Reminded me very much of the brilliant movie 'Bronson', which is also about a real man, but heavily fictionalised/arty.
Can anyone reccommmend films similar to this? Maybe set in the same area? The trouble with 'hillbilly' films, is that they are all cheap re-hashes of Deliverance. Any genuinely good ones out there?
Winter's Bone (which was filmed about an hour from where I live) is a great depiction of the poverty-stricken meth abusers in the Ozarks.
