Even after the twist, I still think the killer was...

Even after the twist I still think the killer was Deniro. I think Pacino did "something terrible" in order to cover for his partner. Pacino believed in what Deniro was doing. His last words were, "Keep up the good work." Deniro was the killer, and it's kinda sad to see him get away with it all.

I'm the guy who does his job, you must be the other guy.

Nobody agrees?

Well, I think that was the ending. That's why deniro kept asking him "why are you doing this?"

That doesnt fit in with the russian guy gettin shot

Actually it does.

All the other kills are clean and quick... Headshots to a moving skateboarder and such.

The Russian was standing still and is hit on each shoulder by the shooter. I thought right away that it wasn't the same guy. A good shot would have put them center mass or in the head. Especially if it was his 14th kill.

The Russian job was sloppy, and made me think it was the other covering for him. Though that's a slim chance given the rape of the girl. It would only make more sense if we knew the character was dying anyway or something.

One problem with that theory. The director disagrees.

"If he goes Hannibal Lecter on me, I want Jodie Foster busting through that door."

What about when he tried to kill john leguizamo's character, he missed every shot then too.

This actually makes a lot of seance, a twist within a twist. Would have made for a an awesome ending! Anyways i gave this movie an 8. Still thought it was a great.

I also gave this movie an 8.
De Niro and Pacino are great actors.

Hmm. Interesting, but I don't think so. This movie was more simple than that.

Interesting theory, but it never crossed my mind (I mean if they would have wanted to indicate this possibility, I would have noticed it), so it's probably wrong.

But this could have been another twist, after some script development. And it would've been satisfying, instead of the current, quite predictable one. So, not a bad idea.
