I hate it when kids act like adults badly, but it was handled well in this movie, and Elle is talented enough to do it sincerely.

So does that mean you liked this movie? Because none of the kids in it acted like adults.

I think her sister is guilty of acting more like an adult in everything she's in, as opposed to Elle.

lol. I didn't think any of the kids acted like adults either. If anything Elle acted exactly like how a young child would act.

I only do it with superheroes.

I agree, I wasn't impressed with Fanning's acting in this. It seemed like she only had two expressions. I thought she was way better in The Nines. Hopefully she'll be good in Somewhere.

Um, I don't think you saw what I saw. Phoebe in Wonderland is one of the best movies ever in my opinion. And when Phoebe was hurt or crying, I felt the pain. That's how well Elle did. She was so excellent! You have to keep in mind, she's been in acting for years. She knows how to act. Actually, I think this was her best role she's played!

Chris: "Yeah, ten years ago, when I was a whale."

When did Fanning act like an adult? She was 100% believable as a kid. Hollywood's definition of a child protagonist is basically Jesus. Everything perfect with that oh so innocence that only a 6 year old would realistically have. Elle was believable because she acted like a normal kid. She had her flaws! She had her strengths! She had enough characterization to feel like a normal person.

Are u talking about Phoebe?
Because she wasn't acting like a troubled girl, she was acting like a smart but traumatized 9yo that doesn't understand what is going on around her.
Believe it or not, the responses she gave sometimes, that were smart and bossy do really appear in the real world.
Only thing that was not too believable is when she told basically "directed" the play in the end in front of the eyes of the principal. But everything else... totally ok. Guess you don't know many smart 9yo then.
