Good movie!

This film goes to show that you can still make an interesting film without crude humor and language.

Some other movies you probably haven't heard and that are definitely worth seeing:

Take Shelter
Martha Marcy May Marlene

Eh...this movie is just awful. Bad acting, bad writing, trite plot, unappealing characters and the music was serious overkill. A movie can be great with or without "crude" language, but this is a really bad example of any film and point one might be trying to make. And dear god WTH was Ellen Burstyn doing in it?

Anyone know why they changed the original title "Our Lady of Victory"? I thought it was better and more accurate - the movie focussed so much more on the coach (and the team was generic - they didn't use the actual names of the players).

Studio probably thought it would scare off non-Christians.

I liked it, too! Being from the area (and growing up with IHM nuns in school), I enjoyed the local scenes and think everyone involved did a great job. Cool that Cathy Rush and Ed Rush both had cameos, too.

P.S. what does 'this is a really bad example of any film and point one might be trying to make' even mean, janettejordan?

It is an imlortant film. Especially for young girls involved. In sports. If youre from the area it is important for everyone

I guess people just dont get it but the sports stories of our time are the most pure form of pushing ourselves to excell,to be truly great. The women of Immaculatta including Kathy Rush (and Tim Chambers for that mater) truly accomplished that

I felt the screenplay missed some potentially great character interactions but otherwise, I also thought this was a great family film.

I loved the characters, their chemistry together, and the basketball choreography.

The film was like a mix of "Coach Carter" and "Freedom Writers."
